word definition

Double data rate synchronous dynamic random access memory (DDR SDRAM) is a class of memory integrated circuits used in computers.

Dynamic random access memory (DRAM) is a type of random access memory that stores each bit of data in a separate capacitor within an integrated circuit. Since real capacitors leak charge, the information eventually fades unless the capacitor charge is refreshed periodically. Because of this refresh requirement, it is a dynamic memory as opposed to SRAM and other static memory.

SGRAM

Abbreviation of Synchronous Graphic Random Access Memory, a type of DRAM used increasingly on video adapters and graphics accelerators. Like SDRAM, SGRAM can synchronize itself with the CPU bus clock up to speeds of 100 MHz. In addition, SGRAM uses several other techniques, such as masked writes and block writes, to increase bandwidth for graphics-intensive functions.

DRAM

Pronounced dee-ram, DRAM stands for dynamic random access memory, a type of memory used in most personal computers.

Fascinating facts about the invention of the "QWERTY" Keyboard by Christopher Latham Sholes in 1875

AT A GLANCE:In 1875, Christopher Sholes with assistance from Amos Densmore  rearranged the typewriter keyboard so that the commonest letters were not so close together and the type bars would come from opposite directions. Thus they would not clash together and jam the machine. The new arrangement was the "QWERTY" arrangement that typists use today

Milestones:1868 Christopher Sholes, Carlos Glidden and Samuel Soule patent type writing machine
1873 Remington & Sons mass produces the Sholes & Glidden typewriter
1875 Sholes and Amos Densmore redesign keyboard layout
1878 Sholes awarded patent for QWERTY keyboard improvement.
